Billboard GoGo Bar Coming Along Nicely

The newest venue in Nana Plaza, Billboard, which can be found up on the top floor is coming along nicely. The group in charge - the same group running Angelwitch - picked it up for a song after former tenant Czech Peter stopped paying rent and the lease was repossessed by Nana Castle, the Nana Plaza leaseholders.
Billboard has been redecorated with a large Jacuzzi and showers installed as props for shows. There's new strobe lighting, a new sound system and it's all coming together nicely.
The one problem is the lack of staff, specifically dancers. The venue desperately needs more.

Nana Plaza Looks A Bit Run-Down

Nana Plaza looks a bit run-down these days with the third floor's collection of girlie bars mostly under reconstruction, the escalator out of service and garbage everywhere, Soi Cowboy on the other hand, is pleasant with the Isan sisterhood's giggles and screams ringing through the early night...

New Club: Billboard GoGo Bar in Nana Plaza Opens

The same people who bought Angelwitch in Nana Plaza also purchased and took over Hollywood Carousel Go-Go bar on the top floor.
Now its called Billboard, complete with new neon on the outside, as they try to get the inside into shape.
Dave The Rave is managing both clubs, so he's running up and down between the two locations all night.

Sukhumvit Psycho says that "Billboard Go Go bar looks inside very much like Hollywood Carousel Go Go bar at the end of its life. A rather bad start. Let’s see if things get better in the future…"
Give it time. Maybe it'll end up as a bigger and more over-the-top Angelwitch. We shall see.

Beer Bars Grow Outside Nana Plaza on Soi 4 (Soi Nana)

One can notice that with more and more beer bars opening outside Nana Plaza (Stumble Inn, 4, Strikers, etc.), directly on Sukhumvit soi 4, and with more and more Freelancers working directly on this soi (now they’re not only waiting on the Nana Hotel Parking lot, but they are standing or walking all along the soi, from the corner with Sukhumvit Road to the corner with Sukhumvit soi 6), the action is now more outside the Plaza than inside.

Angelwitch Has Been Sold

After 15 odd years, the time has come for Matt, the creator of Angelwitch, to say farewell. The multi-million dollar deal to sell the two Angelwitch bars (one in Nana Plaza in Bangkok, and the one in Pattaya) has taken months to finalize.
Matt's last day in Angelwitch will be February 28 so you still have a few weeks to wish him well before he leaves the industry to spend more time with his young family.
I note that in his goodbye email he said that he won't miss the booze. It's that sort of frank honesty that separated Matt from so many bar owners.
