A Recent Visit to the Kangaroo Club in Bangkok

I never have a problem with the price of blow job bars. There’s no barfine, no cost for short time room, I don’t have to buy a drink for the girls or a taxi to the room. I have always seen it to be a fairly straightforward transaction. Sort of like ordering a pizza for dinner… it’s quick, easy, you don’t have to do any work at all, and when it’s finished you feel satisfied.

I enjoyed the visit to Kangaroo Bar last night more than most. Honestly, the lights are low, my eyes are closed… it doesn’t matter what they look like if they know how to do the job right, and these two definitely knew how to do the job.

Stickman Remembers Bangkok - Those Were The Days

As I made more foreign friends I started to discover the nightlife areas.
Back then, 10 years ago, the bars were packed with more girls, the attitudes were better and a standard drink ran 70 – 75 baht.

Venturing out with an English friend who was even younger than me, the two of us really were fighting the girls off.
The first bar I used to drink in often was Pretty Lady bar, in Nana Plaza.
Thinking back to those days brings a huge smile to my face.

In Pattaya - Check out The Welkom Inn Early On (Before Noon)

Welkom Inn is a hotel in Soi 3 (also entrance in Soi 2), but it has a little nice bar in Soi 3 too and the party starts early here.
In Soi 3 you will see some ladies sitting outside before a curtain, which is the entrance to the very dark little bar inside (coming from the beach road, it will be on the left side, just after some regular bars).

You won't need a flashlight however, there will always be someone to guide into the right direction... ;-)

Man Dies While Having Sex in Pattaya

American tourist dies apparently of generic Viagra overdose

Pattaya - An American tourist died while having sex with a Thai bar girl in this seaside resort town late Sunday night, police said.

The bar girl told police that Ronald Kipu, 58, took three pills of Kamagra before having sex with her.

She filed complaints with police at 12:30 am that the man collapsed and stopped breathing while having sex with her in his room on the sixth floor of New Star Apartment in Chon Buri's Bang Lamung district.

Kipu just arrived at Pattaya Sunday afternoon and took her to his apartment from a bar in the evening, she said.

Police said there was no trace of fighting or assaulting on the man.
Police found a four-pill pack of Kamagra wit just one pill left.
The mans' body was sent for an autopsy.

Bangkok:
If you haven't been to Sukhumvit, soi 8 for a while you will be very surprised at the amazing number of new and interesting restaurants, etc.
So if you associate Soi 8 only with Lolita's you will have to think again. Jerry divides his time between Bangkok and upcountry whereas I divide my time between Soi Cowboy and Nana Plaza. Not exactly the same but the principle is the same.

Phnom Penh:
As you may know, there are many, many Vietnamese young women available in Cambodia as well as Cambodians themselves. To say that the Cambodians do not like the Vietnamese is an understatement. So I was sitting at a table at Sharkey's with a Cambodian girl and my friend's 26-year-old nephew was sitting with a half Chinese/half Cambodian girl.

(And to make a short story shorter....)
Yes, for the sake of international peace and fellowship, I had to take an attractive, young Cambodian woman back to my hotel room and do the nasty with her. A tough life but somebody has to live it. And since I hadn't planned to take anybody back with me, I hadn't taken any Viagra, so I actually had to work at it!

Tilac Bar at Soi Cowboy was Hopping

I discovered that the most popular go-go bar that night was Tilac Bar. Even though Tilac is a large go-go bar, it had customers sitting in every area of the bar, and outside as well.

Tilac really has transformed itself into a modern hangout, carving out its own chunk of the go-go bar market. The extravagant remodel is obviously paying dividends! The elaborate use of ultraviolet lighting gives it an almost futuristic design, which complements the tabletop theme.

Nana Plaza Update

Nana really needs to wake up because punters now have four reasons to go to Soi Cowboy - friendlier atmosphere, more on display, cheaper prices and smokefree bars!

But there's at least one bit of good news from Nana this week.
The motorbikes that had been parked in the main entranceway have been banished.
I don't know where they park them now, but let's hope that they've gone for good.

So Long Old Friend in Pattaya

It's gone! Pattaya's most famous landmark has been removed. The Walking Street sign that has greeted visitors for years to the heart of the world's most famous adult playground has disappeared forever, soon to be replaced with a new high tech LCD replacement which, from the looks of things, should be up and running shortly.

Kangaroo Club Review

I turned up at the Kangaroo Club in Patpong one morning at about 10.00 a.m. and wandered through the street level door - all was quiet so I called out something inane like “anyone there?”
A lady appeared at the top of the stairs to tell me that the bar was closed but then as an afterthought asked if I wanted a BJ.
I said yes - she said ‘I can do’ - so I ambled up and she dispensed with her rubber gloves and mop took me round to the seated section and proceeded to attend to my significant other.
I know that bar girls take turns in opening the bars and cleaning them so it is most likely that she was a normal service provider that happened to be on dusting duties that morning - but I guess she could have been the cleaner.
Anyway she was a mid-twenties spinner so I wasn’t going to complain. I left her with a 1000 Baht note and doubt that she reported that particular transaction to the bar owner.

Happy Hour until 9 pm at Soi Cowboy

One very good reason to start your evening in Soi Cowboy is to take advantage of the excellent drinks deals on offer. Unlike Nana Plaza, almost every single bar in Soi Cowboy has a Happy Hour.
Tilac, Black & White, Long Gun and Raw Hide, all have a Happy Hour that runs until 9:00pm. Better still is the fact that they all offer local beers and spirits at only 60 Baht. When you see the “birthday suit babes” in Long Gun and Raw Hide, this has to be the best drinks deal in the whole of Bangkok.

Thailand - Smoke Free Starting February 11th

Beginning on February 11 smoking will be banned in all restaurants and bars throughout Thailand. Enforcement of the smoking ban will be widespread - and that includes spots popular with farangs. So smoke-free gogo clubs are coming soon.

Angelwitch is on my list for two reasons: (i) I hadn’t been there in a year or more, so I’m not tired of the shows; and (ii) I went there on Saturday night and there were four or five genuine stunners in the lineup and the girls were all topless. If I hadn’t had a good trip on Saturday AW wouldn’t be on my list.

An Early Report of New Years Eve at Nana Plaza:
It was about 9 pm, so I figured I’d check out the action around Nana. I had a drink in Fantasia, but it was lame. I walked into G-spot and back out. I went upstairs and had a look at Carousel and Hollywood, but they were empty. Rainbow 3 was a ghost-town with three dancers on stage and no customers. The bars on the ground floor (at least the outdoor beer bars) were rocking, and Mandarin Club had been busier than usual, but everywhere else I went was deathly quiet.

Maybe it would pick up later, but between 9:00 and 9:30 it was death valley in these bars.

Another Nana Plaza Update:
It is true: some bars at Nana have made the move to let us say less apparel - and more! The Mandarin Bar upstairs girls seem to have forgotten their skivvies and seem to have forgotten to button their blouses. Shades of Baccara and Erotica! Hollywood now has some good shows involving showers and very scantily clad women (and very good looking women) indeed.
Angelwitch, the bar I believe who dared start the trend, is also right up there in the why not show a bit above the waist category and as always the shows are daring and fun. Angelwitch, even on a Sunday, was doing fine for business.

Angelwitch Goes Topless At Nana Plaza

Angelwitch decided to give punters a gift on Christmas night when at precisely 11:40 PM Angelwitch Nana started to resemble its Pattaya sister branch and the girls on stage became topless!
It was all very tastefully done and the act was accompanied by the rock song "It’s been a long time" perfectly underscoring the significance of the event. Punters could see that a fair number of sponsors have paid for the girls to have boob jobs. If they defy gravity, they probably aren't real! And what makes it even better is that the girls are topless in many of the shows. I can tell you that the Thai classical dancing routine performed topless is now not just a show, it's now the stuff of pure fantasy! Yeah, with Hollywood also on top form, Nana is on the comeback path.

The Difference Between A Coyote Dancing Club and A Go-Go Club in Bangkok

What’s the difference between coyote dancing and gogo dancing?
Is it that gogo dancing has a pole?

Are the coyote dancers freelancers?
Is the dance floor different?

Or is it a license thing? Limited number of gogo licenses available,
so they bill it as a coyote club?

I’m not sure I can explain. The owner of the Magic Table has been quoted as saying his bar isn’t a go go bar because it doesn’t have chrome poles.

I’d say that my experience in Bangkok is that on a practical level:
* go go bars have poles; coyote bars don’t
* coyote dancers are high energy dancers with a lot of skill; go go dancers may or may not be talented or energetic
* go go dancers usually dance in bikinis or less; coyote dancers dress in sexy and skimpy clothes, but they are dressed in shorts, etc rather than bikinis
* Coyote dancers are USUALLY employed by the bar where they work and make pretty good money
* Go go dancers are ALWAYS barfinable; coyote dancers usually aren’t.

All that said, I’m no expert. I hope that helps. Maybe someone else knows better than me and can be more exact.

This silly craze called Coyote Dance continues to grow at the Bangkok nightclubs. The idea came from that movie released back in 2002 called Coyote Ugly about a group of trashy girls who run a New York nightclub. The Thais have latched onto the scenes of those tramps dancing on the bar and now some of the clubs do a so-called "Coyote Dance" show. And now they even have a Coyote Dance contest, as in the photo here where the contestants wearing numbers dance for prizes. Apparently the trashier the look the better the chances are of winning.

Inactive Bangkok Nightlife Websites

Seems that Bangkok Bad Boy can be added to the list of inactive websites pertaining to the Thailand Nightlife.
For as an intense scene as this, its hard for a person to sustain oneself on a regular basis. I know that after two or three weeks of going out every night, I start to pay less attention to the stimulus and excitement of the scene before me and become more concerned about what all of the secondhand smoke, overly loud music, and alcohol is doing to my body.
Its a lot like the girls in the business. I've seen quite a few who were enthusiastic the first time I met them, but after a year or so of dancing to the same loud music, drinking the same lady's drinks, night after night after night, and saying the same come-on lines, all the nights start being the same.
Just more unfulfilled promises.

Got to Shark bar around 9 this time. Got a seat and admired the lineup.
So many good looking girls, great happy hour prices and awesome music.

Someone makes a point of getting fresh UK/US top pop songs which are fun to listen to but more importantly - the girls are into it as well. This makes all the difference with the girls enjoying the songs and actually dancing a bit on the stage.
I easily saw 10 girls I would barfine at first glance. Shark is great but go early.
I noticed dancers from playskool, r2 and voodoo on the stage. The exodus from Nana continues.

Nana Plaza - Hollywood 2 Update

Hollywood 2, that's the smaller of the Hollywood bars, is very much lacking in numbers of girls, but surprisingly the girls they do have are pleasant on the eye.
You also may get a chance to see things not seen for a while in Nana... nudge, nudge, wink, wink!
Apparently it is up to the girls to choose the amount of coverage, ranging from bikini top, to stars, to no stars.
Beer runs a very reasonable 100 baht.
